Team members Robin and Neal Kaufman arrive in time to enjoy a day of R & R.
We had two options… go on a snorkeling trip to the reef or go to a national park. Since no snorkeling trips were planned that day we went to Rio Blanco National Park.
This was supposed to be Kent jumping but because he could not talk any of the other missioners into risking their lives he also passed. The water was murky so the snorkeling was not good, but we all went swimming.
While on the nature trail we got the strong scent left by a large cat marking his territory. A little further up the trail we found this apparent jaguar scratch post. The naturalistic at the welcome center said that jaguars frequently come down and take the locally raised pigs. I forgot to ask him if they also take tourists.
Returning from Rio Blanco we stopped by our warehouse to help load the school at Dolores. The school is a 2 and a half hour drive on a dirt road from the nearest highway.
It is a pleasure dealing with the schools because they are not only appreciative and all smiles, but also use and take care of the educational tools we bring them.
Bob Farley started the Belize Training Center and has been wonderful in accommodating our needs. Tomorrow we start working on setting up centers at the preschools. Also tomorrow Mario comes down from Dangriga to help us with the IT portion of the mission.
